DIPLOMA (LEVEL 6) PERIOPERATIVE THEATRE TECHNOLOGY (POTT)

The Perioperative Theatre Technology (POTT) is a 2 ½ years program approved by The Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA). AIC Kijabe College of Health Sciences is accredited to offer Diploma in POTT (Level 6) and is registered as assessment center by the examining body – Directorate of TVET (KNEC). The POTT curriculum is designed to produce competent theatre technicians who are industry-ready to play a key role in safe and quality surgical care. Their primary role is to assist surgical and theatre teams in the following areas among others:

Additionally, KCHS POTT graduates are equipped to offer comprehensive care (including spiritual care), participate in research and health services management. Therefore, the program adopts an integrated clinical and classroom approach in order to achieve this. The learning experience is supported by vibrant surgical teams in a variety of theatre settings.

The entry requirement for the POTT program is a KCSE mean grade of C- (minus) or its equivalent or a holder of Certificate in Perioperative Theatre Technology from a recognized institution approved by TVET.
